The map has places with in two hours (3 max) of Phnom Penh. Kampong Cham Province is rich with sites and places to visit. We recommend spending a few days there enroute to Kracheh, Ratanakiri, and Sen Monorom. Mekong Crossing Bar and Restaurant is western managed and also provides plenty of local information. Kampong Cham is a two hour bus ride from Phnom Penh. Phnom Chissor is 45K south of Phnom Penh and stops can easily be made at Tonle Bati and Prasat Nieng Kamal. Prasat Boran is an ancient site but relatively little remains of the pre Angkorian temple. It is a worthwhile stop as recent wartime history is evident in the buildings around the wat.
