Angkor Wat Cambodia

Banteay Meanchey Province in Northwestern Cambodia is home to two significant sites.  Banteay Chmar and Banteay Toup (Khmers pronouce as tope), 12th Century Angkorian Temples, are located approximately 60 kilometers north of Sisophon.  Both can be seen on a day trip out of Sisophon, and infact we had one of our woman customers do the day trip on the back of a moto from Battambang.  Banteay Chmar is the northern most of the two and the Banteay Toup turn off is 7 kilometers south then another 2 kilometers east of the main road.  Through out the '90s Banteay Chmar had become victim to servere looting. It is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
